Information on the best ways of getting to Split.
Split is reachable by plane from almost all European hubs: Amsterdam, Brussels, Copenhagen, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Istanbul, Lisbon, London, Munich, Oslo, Paris, Prishtina, Rome etc.
There are regular bus lines to and from Munich and Trieste. Most other bus lines involve a change in Zagreb. There are many buses to and from Zagreb every day. The journey takes between 5 and 7 hours.

By car Split can be reached from various directions: from Zagreb by Highway A1 Zagreb-Split, or using the road through the inland or travelling along the Adriatic coast from the north.
Split is connected to European cities with regular and seasonal lines and low budget and charter flights. Split Airport is located 20 km distance from Split centre. Detailed information can be found at the Split airport web site.

You can choose the following solutions: By motorway from Zagreb in 3.5-4 hours; via the Adriatic highway from Rijeka in 5 hours and from Dubrovnik in 3hours.

You can arrive in Split by direct ferry and catamaran transport from Italy, but also thanks to the along-coast lines from Rijeka or Dubrovnik.
There are regular bus services from, amongst other cities, Munich and Trieste to Split. More information about bus transport.
It is possible to travel by train to Split from elsewhere in Europe, although the majority of routes involves a change of trains at Zagreb. You are best to check the Die Bahn website for timetable details.
